Tropical Deco Bathroom
Love the thought of swaying to that island breeze? If you are in search of some great tropical deco bathroom ideas, this article is for you.
There are many ways to go about creating a tropical deco bathroom, and most of them are entirely wrong. While creating a theme room can be a wonderful way to perk up your home, you don’t want your space looking like a cheap party store. Instead of collecting lots of plastic palm trees and painting your walls bright yellow, consider the alternative: classy, sophisticated, island design. You see, there are many elements of the islands that most people miss when they begin to shop for accessories and paint.
If you have ever walked into an import/export home store, you may know the idea behind that chic island look. Begin by painting your walls a pale shade of cream, blue, or yellow – skip those opaque colors that scream rather than whisper. Next, you will have to incorporate lots of accessories into this space, but rather than search for wicker and plastic start by looking for dark, natural woods. As soon as you discover the look of dark wood (look for bamboos and other tropical woods) against a pale colored background, you will begin to see how this type of island oasis can come together.
Now, you may be thinking that you want a bit more of a color punch when it comes to this space, which is why your accessories should reflect this very idea. Instead of regular bath towels, find some large and colourful beach towels that really evoke all of that island sunshine (you can even look for ones that say “beach” on them). Towel bars, toilet holders, soap dishes, and any other fixture can easily take on that island feel, as long as you don’t opt for plastic (stick with metals, brass, and natural materials). The last part of your tropical deco bathroom is light – after all, what are the islands without light?
If you are going through a complete remodel of your room, make sure to include lots of windows, skylights, and other openings that will help the natural sunlight to come shining through. If you just want to give the room a face lift, make sure to include lots of light fixtures that give off different types of light (soft, hard, and everything in between).
Hopefully, you can now tell the difference between tacky tropical deco bathroom decor and tasteful island decor. Remember to choose natural, non-plastic, items that calm and soothe rather than scream and shout.
