Country Bathroom Decorating
Country bathroom decorating can be really stylish and sophisticated or it can be somewhat homey and comfortable. The way that your bath ends up depends upon the colors, pieces, and fixtures that you choose.
For some, country bathroom decorating means lots of small knick knacks, tons of plaid prints, and a few bits of blue. For others, this style embodies white washed furniture, heavy ceramics, and many different antique items. If you are not sure what your personal style is, take the time to flip through various decorating magazines to find out. Once you know what look you are after, you can then begin to put the room together.
To head in that antique direction, begin by look at various replicas. Furniture, fixtures, and many other items can be found in the replicated state. Of course, the authentic type will also look rather wonderful, though this tends to be more expensive. If you want a truly great decorating tip, find some relatively inexpensive pieces of furniture that have those classic lines, and buy some white paint in order to whitewash the furniture to give it that aged look (you can also do this with colored paint that has been mixed with a lot of water). Also, consider placing an old rocking chair inside of the bath for an unusual, but interesting, piece.
Should you prefer the chequered table cloth type of country bathroom decorating, you can easily find lots of inexpensive patterns, pieces of furniture, and small items in nearly any home store. The trick to either style is to look in smaller shops and online rather than inside of a giant home store. Why? You will find a lot of modern looks inside of these larger stores along with some country-ish looks, but they won’t have that authentic feel.
As you can see, there are two ways to go about decorating your home in this manner. No matter what style you choose, just make sure to keep it relatively simple. Simple decor always looks the best (try walls that are painted a simple color with lots of small rustic accents).
Country bathroom decorating should be lots of fun, so take the time to really gather some unique items. Soon enough, you will have a bath that is relaxing and jubilant, and isn’t that what those old-fashioned styles are really all about?
