Bathroom Windows

A few years ago, bathroom windows did little more than allow a few glints of light to shine through them. Today, these room essentials open up the entire space to a world of possibilities.

While bathrooms used to be likened to basements (and even those have changed), these rooms are now full of light, accessories, and various fixtures that were never even thought of before. Bathroom windows have come a long way from the slits in the wall that they used to be, which is why you have more options than ever before. Still, you want these fixtures to do more than let the light in, which is why you should consider the following things before selecting any one style.

If you are going to plan a space that includes any type of exercise area, you need to have at least one window that allows for adequate ventilation. While one is ok, a bunch of them that will help the fresh air to gush in is optimal. If you want to create a spa-like atmosphere, the high bank and awning type are the ones to choose (these can be opened via remote). Aside from ventilation options, you will also have many different designs to choose from. You can select small garden ones, larger angular ones, and some that are solely meant for a bit of an accent. Try not to place any of these in an area that will shine direct sunlight upon your mirror (otherwise, you will be battling sun every time you look in the mirror). Once you have figure out the design you desire, consider different privacy options.

You can purchase bathroom windows that are tinted, colored, and cut in numerous shapes that will provide you with a lot of privacy. If you don’t want to place any curtains on your windows, you may find that opting for one that is already shaded is a good idea. Also, consider looking to the ceiling for some more light choices (skylights will provide a bath of light), since natural light is always the best kind. Finally, you will want to consider energy efficient ones. In today’s world, anything that has an energy efficient seal is a good buy.

If you are going to look for those energy approved ones, make sure that they are also guaranteed to be warm during those colder months. Previously, many homeowners had trouble with the energy sort due to the fact that they were not insulated well, though this concern has almost disappeared (still, it doesn’t hurt to ask).

Have fun when shopping for your bathroom windows – nothing will light up your room better than a lot of natural sunshine.
