Bathroom Colors

Help! There’s an entire rainbow of colors out there – how do I choose just one? If you are starting to feel this way, you should know that there is an easy way to select the perfect bathroom colors.

The very first thing that you should think about when it comes to bathroom colors is who will be using this room the most. If you are planning a space for a child, you will want to decorate according. If the room will be part of your master suite, you will need to think about the hues that you like. If you are working on a guest bathroom, the color scheme should be altogether different. Once you have figured out this part of the remodelling process, you can then begin to really narrow down those shades.

Let’s begin with the child’s bathroom. There are numerous directions that you can go in when it comes to your kids. You may decide to paint the walls blue and white to reflect the sea (don’t forget those great accessories!); you can create a sandy beach theme by adding a lot of warm colors and seashells to the room; or you can create a sunny day at the beach by using primary colors to re-create beach balls – these are just some options, though there are thousands more. Now, let’s talk about those guests...

Unless you want to drive them away, your guest bathroom should really be full of pale bathroom colors. Paint the walls a pale shade, but allow the room to pop with the addition of some really bright accessories. Another theme that works wonders in the guest space is an all natural theme – incorporate lots of natural colors, plants, and things that really bring a person back to nature. Try and make this type of room as cozy as possible, so that your guests feel right at home. Lastly, let’s turn our attention to the master bath.

Since you want the master bath to be relaxing and enjoyable, the shades that you place in this room should be pale and calming. Or, you may decide to paint the walls white, while adding a lot of great color through the use of accessories. For example, cream with burgundy; cream with hunter green; and cream with navy blue are all great ideas. Also, don’t forget to add those luxurious touches to this space (towel warmer, heat lamp, heated floors...).

By now, you should have many great bathroom colors swimming in your mind. Remember to think of the person that will use the space first, and then turn that room into a private oasis.
